From the book Learning to be a Woman: “A woman is not born a woman. Nor does she become one when she marries a mona, bears a child and does theri dirty linen, not even when she joins a woman’s liberation movement. A woman becomes a woman when she becomes what God wants her to be.”

This chapter is about abandoning yourself, your earthly desires to follow God. ruth left her family, her home, her false godsand any obvious chance of getting married again. She devoted to God, not knowing the outcome. One thing Ruth had to do to follow God…change her circle. 1 Cor 15:33 Do not be decieved. Bad company corrupts good morals.

Here is a quote from A.W. Tozer: “A whole generation of Christians has come up believing that it is posible to ‘accept’ Christ without forsaking the world.”

What does it mean to you to abandon who you are, abandon the world, to become who He wants you to be?

Collasians 2:10 and in him you are made full, who is the head of all principality and power. Are you complete in Him?

What do you think of this statement?: “ANY WOMAN WHO DOES NOT UNDERSTAND THAT SHE IS COMPLETE IN JESUS IS SUSCEPTIBLE TO IDOLATRY” Put a different way, idolatry is when we put something in God’s place.

What is the difference between religion and a relationship with God?

Read this and think about how our society tells us we will be fulfilled by marriage or a boyfriend: ” You were not created to complete anaother, but to complement. Completion is Jesus’ responsibility and complementing is a woman’s privilege. A woman not complete in Jesus will be a drain on her husband. Such a woman will expect her husband to fill the gap that only Jesus can fill.”

Are you afraid to be without someone? To not find your prince charming? Let Jesus take this role! Trust me, He is the most romantic guy EVER..and he is a great listener!  

There are 10 chapters, each focused on the ten qualities of a Godly woman found in Ruth.  They are Reckless Abandonment, Diligence, Faith, Virtue, Devotion, Purity, Security, Contentment, Conviction, and Patience. There are several of those I know I dont have. And after reading the book, I assure you it will change you if you let it. Plus there are tons of great passages from the Bible to back it up and to study!

As a first weeks request, we are reading Chapter 1. I assume not everyone has gotten their books yet, so Im giving everyone two weeks. But I encourage all of you to read the Book of Ruth. Its only four chapters. And it will defintely make the first chapter easier to read!

The basis of Exclusive is to help each other develop and grow into Godly women. My main focus is NOT on dating, whether to date or not, who and when. It is to develop the qualities beautifully illustrated in Proverbs 31:10-30. Our society teaches girls and women that we can’t be complete until we find our “soulmates.” That would be fine and dandy if it were true, but only Christ can truly complete our soul.  Becoming a helpmate isn’t meant to fulfill our lives but beautifully compliment them. (This doesn’t mean the group or reading isn’t meant for married women. It is never too late to realize the beautiful relationship and dependendy you can develop with your first Love).

Our society has taught us to win men with our looks and our seduction. We have been taught to disrespect the opposite sex, bend or break our morals, and ultimately hurt ourselves. I want to see girls and women who LOVE who they and radiate with the joy and love Jesus has put in their hearts. I want to see ladies rise up that don’t care what society says, but hold higher standards for themselves. …who don’t hold back because they think they are too young or God will forget about their hearts desires. A higher standard…one that you hold because you love yourself! that is what being exclusive is all about!
